Batavia ~ Quincey S. T. Carpenter-Johnson, age 17, of Washington Avenue, died Wednesday evening (Nov. 14, 2012) at Strong Memorial Hospital after an extended illness, with his loving family at his side. Quincey was born June 7, 1995 in Batavia, a son of James and Charlene Kanner Johnson of Batavia. He was in his sophomore year at Batavia High School. He will be remembered as a very outgoing young man, who was very involved in sports prior to his illness. He had a passion for fishing and was an avid New England Patriots fan. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Cedric Carpenter of Lockport, four sisters; Katrina (Herbert) Starkes, Latoya Johnson, Jovon Johnson and Patricia Johnson, all of Rochester, maternal grandmother, Carol Kanner of Lockport, paternal grandmother, Annie Johnson of Rochester, maternal aunts and uncles, Susan (William) Taylor of NC, Bryan (Sherry) Wright of Pavilion and Randy (Cathy) Wright of Batavia, paternal aunts and uncles, Willymae Fields of CO, Annette (Ralph) Black of CO, Richard Johnson of CO, Patricia Johnson of Rochester and Cornelius Johnson of CO, along with a host of other dear family members and friends. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Thomas and Shirley Jackson and paternal grandfather, Richard Johnson Sr. Family and friends may call on the family on Tuesday, Nov. 20 from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at the Michael S. Tomaszewski Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 4120 West Main St. Rd., Batavia, where services will follow at 1:00 P.M.. Interment will be in Machpelah Cemetery, LeRoy at the convenience of the family. Memorials on behalf of Quincey are suggested to his family.
