Phil was my first boss at Terry Hills when I was just 16. I worked as a salad bar prep person and later as a waitress. I remember a thunderstorm hit and I was the only waitress on. Everyone from the entire tournament came in and ordered coffee and danishes. Phil came out and helped me take orders and gave me all the tips.
I am very sorry to hear of Phil’s death. I have great memories working for him on summers back from college.

Deepest condolences to the Tooze family. I remember him from when he used to support us all in high school sports and get togethers. Your dad was the "fun dad" and we all loved him.
RIP Mr Tooze.

So sorry to hear of Phil passing. He was a great guy and gave me a great job at Terry Hills when I most needed it and also hired my daughter at Applebees when I asked. He has always been a special person to me and he will be greatly missed! Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Roxie, Mick Schulte and Dana Charvella.

I started working for Phil in 1994 when I was 14 and I worked for him on and off through high school until the end of 1998. Some of those days with Pags, Robbie K, Julie DiLaura, Mike Weinman, Shane Burger (RIP), Tom Petrie, Bill Kettle, Janet, Ray and others are some of my most vivid memories as a young adult. I had more fun and much more time on the other side of the bar as a patron and I was a proud member of the last Creekside Softball team with some of my best friends in the world during the fire of 2004. I could go on forever but I won’t. Thanks for all the life lessons, memories and free beers you didn’t know you gave me. Rest In Peace Phil. -CD

It started as a business relationship, but became much more. Phil was always a guy in my corner, and together we believed we could make anything better.
He was a dear friend who I will be looking for when it’s my turn to go through the gates.
Tell St. Pete first Bud Lights on me.
