Uncle Roger was my Mom's baby brother, and I was born when he was not quite 15 years old. When I was a little girl, I remember being at the farm in Pavilion, where he lived with his folks, my grandparents, and as I sat in their living room on the couch, he came running down the stairs, impeccably dressed in blue jeans with a cotton shirt tucked in, a perfect flat top haircut and a big smile on his face. I thought he was the most handsome guy in the world. He was probably on his way to get Eunice and head out on a date. What a lucky girl. Well, he turned out to be a loving husband and father along with being a sweet Uncle, who along with Eunice welcomed us into their home many times for various celebrations and meals. Eunice was a great cook! I'm sure Uncle Roger would attest to that. His family is going to miss him, just like they all miss their Mom, but I know they have a lot of wonderful memories because I have a number of them myself.
