I just learned of Dukes's passing. I was a classmate at Niagara. Senior year we both lived in 'House Five'. Duke was the president of the student body in senior year. He was quite a guy and great character.
It is sad they we didn't get together over all these years.

Just learned about Duke's passing from the Niagara Eagle magazine. George was in my class at Niagara. He was always bigger than life, and an energetic sportsman. My condolences to his family. RIP old friend.

Dear Christine and family, I am so sorry to hear of Duke's passing. He was an active member of our class and a good friend. I remember being in the Senior Class play with him. That was probably the first time he was a judge. He was a good one.. With sincere condolences, MimiEmerson

Janet, it is not fair what you and my Mother are going through right now. Thank you for the flowers.
I KNOW, I KNOW, I KNOW...... Lloyd and Duke are up there in heaven , happy, in no pain, like the Glory Days; having fun, maybe with a little mischief going on.
Mom's already planning her gypsy road trip and you are on the top of the list.
God Bless.

Thanks Meagan. you were like a daughter to my Dad and kept my sister busy and happy and out of his hair (just joking Missy).
Seriously you and your family have a special place in our hearts. Your Mom really calmed us down at Strong when we REALLY needed it. God Bless you and thank you.
And congrats on the upcoming wedding! He's a lucky man.

Condolences to the family of Duke Dranichak. I enjoyed working with Duke for many, many years at Buffalo Raceway and have lots of fond memories. His sense of humor kept us laughing.

I MET DUKE SOMETIME AROUND 1970, PRIOR TO HIS BEING MARRIED. HE WAS A HORSEMAN WHO HAD BEEN LAST RACING AT THE HAMBURG OVAL WHERE HE GOT A TRAFFIC TICKET, BUT CHOSE NOT TO GO TO COURT. I WAS A STATE TROOPER AT THE TIME AND ARRESTED DUKE ON A WARRANT FOR FAILING TO APPEAR IN COURT. I TOOK HIM TO COURT IN HAMBURG WHERE HE PAID A FINE AND ON THE WAY BACK, WE PASSED A FARM STAND WHERE FRESH CORN WAS BEING SOLD. HE ASKED ME TO STOP, I DID & HE BOUGHT A LARGE BURLAP BAG OF CORN.WHEN I TOOK HIM BACK TO THE TIAJUANA MOTEL WHERE HE SHARED A ROOM WITH 4 OR 5 OTHER HORSEMEN,HE INVITED ME TO A COOKOUT THAT HE WAS HAVING THE NEXT DAY. I ACCEPTED WHERE I MET SEVERAL OTHER PEOPLE IN THE RACING INDUSTRY. THAT 2 HOUR DRIVE BACK & FORTH TO HAMBURG TURNED INTO A LIFELONG FRIENDSHIP. THERE WASN,T ANYTHING NOT TO LIKE ABOUT THE DUKE. GO IN PEACE MY FRIEND.

Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of "Duke." I was fortunate to have been trained by and work with Duke for many years in New York State. He was a very fair and loyal employer.
Rest in peace my friend.
