I am so saddened by the death of Fr. Kemp and have such fond memories of him. He was the priest in my parish of St. Agnes in the 50's & 60's. He inspired me to follow a vocation to the priesthood because he was so dedicated himself. He encouraged me, a very shy person, to develop my talents. He prompted me to be on the CYO debate team and helped me to overcome my fear of public speaking which has certainly helped me as a priest. He also tried to get me to develop my basketball abilities but, alas, I was never successful at that! I pray for the repose of the soul of this gentle priest and have only good and exemplary memories of him. I will offer a Mass for him and pray that he is at peace. I wish that I could be at his funeral but my schedule will not permit it.
