Mike and I are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of a dear friend, skydiving mentor and "brother". So many memories of Dick and the DZ, way too many to share here, the jumps, the rides to altitude, etc. His smile was contagious. I really wish we could've made one more jump with him. Dear Megan, I'm very sorry to hear this news. Dick was such a force of energy and personality, I can't believe that there's anything that could actually stop him. In all of my visits to Rochester skydivers he was always incredibly helpful and welcoming: people told me he could act gruff but I didn't see much of that. He made sure I had equipment and was oriented. I saw courtesy, safety, love of the sport, and eagerness to help rookies so that they can fly and jump safely. Please accept my condolences: it must be so strange to not have him dashing all about.
