He was born October 5, 1936 in LeRoy, the second youngest child of six, to the late Charles and Beatrice Miller.

After attending LeRoy High School, Dan became interested in carpentry and established his trade in LeRoy and the surrounding areas.  He married Janice Swede and settled in Morganville, where he raised his family of eight children.

Dan took pleasure in helping others in need and had a passion for animals.  He was an avid outdoorsman, often blending time with family and friends in the pursuit of hunting and fishing.  He eventually retired, finding a place to call home on Honeoye Lake, where he kept busy working for Honeoye Valley Properties as a property manager.

He is survived by his children, Daniel (Karen) Miller of LeRoy, Michael Miller (Deanna) of LeRoy, Vicky (Mark) Iafrati of Rochester, Brenda (Jim) DeAngelo of LeRoy, Debbie Bridgeman of LeRoy, Dennis Miller of Rochester, Julie (Rick) Laurie of Stafford and Jon (Deborah) Miller of Stafford; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Charles Miller, Olga Stefani, Marcea Maloy, Jean Squires, his twin brother, Donald Miller and his son-in-law, Everett Bridgeman.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

For Dan's love of animals, memorials may be made to Volunteers for Animals, P.O. Box 1621, Batavia, N.Y. 14021.
