Obituary of Angelo J. Steffenella

LeRoy ~ Angelo J. Steffenella, age 83, of Myrtle Street, passed away Tuesday evening (December 15, 2020).

     He was born April 23, 1937 in Batavia, a son of the late Michael and Mary Stellato Steffenella.

     Ange was a very caring and devoted person, who loved his family deeply.  He will be remembered as a very special husband, father, grandfather and dear friend to many.  He was a proud U.S. Army veteran and member of the LeRoy American Legion Post #576, a lifelong member of the Northwoods Sportsman's Club and   a founding member of the LeRoy Volunteer Ambulance service. He was also an avid bowler and member of the Genesee Region USBC Associaton Hall of Fame.

     He will be sadly missed by his children, Mary (Bruce) Platek, Michael (Donna) Steffenella, Sam (Brenda) Steffenella, Rosalie Steffenella and daughter-in-law, Kris Steffenella; his grandchildren, Tina & Joe, Tiffany & Andy, Jimmy & Michelle, Samantha & Sara, Maureen & Jeff Estabrooks, Jennifer & Scott Roblee, Olivia, Oliana & Michael Warren, Michael & Heather; great-grandchildren, Mandi & Carlie, Aaron & Austin, Jimmy, Madison & Presley, Talon & Alyssa; his siblings, Sam (Shelly) Steffenilla, Bobby (Katie) Steffenilla, Agnes (Dan) Snyder, Eileen (Dean) Fischer, Joan (Rick) VanKuren and Annette Showler; brother-in-law, Frank Mosco; dear friends, Chuck and Sally Riggi, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

     He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Nancy Cassiano Steffenella (2018); his son, David Steffenella (2020); his brother, Charles Steffenilla (2020); brothers-in-law, Ted Showler and Bob Myers.

     There will be no prior visitation.  A funeral mass will be announced at a later date.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to either the LeRoy Ambulance Service or the American Heart Association.
