Respect is earned when those around you know you are true to yourself, as one of her students Ann gained my respect, admiration and friendship. As a teacher she impacted all of her students positively and permanently. We were taught high standards were not too much for a teacher to require of her students but rather what was right and fair. Latin class became more than just a required language but also a compass for our future learning. My class not only stayed with Ann until we passed regents, we chose to stay beyond. A teacher who creates students who want to learn from them is a gift, Ann had it and we are all better for it. I want to send my deepest sympathy to her family and leave her with one last assignment to grade.
“Noster magistra, desiderari eris”.

It was my gift to serve God while participating in Prison Ministry with her. She was a powerful asset to us and she brought me to tears when she spoke of the Passion of Christ. I was absolutely devastated by her words. One thing I knew for sure is you always knew where you stood with her, she pulled no punches. She was a strong and faithful servant to JESUS and passionate in bringing His word to all she served. I was overwhelmed with her knowledge and she brought me to my knees when she spoke about the Passion of Jesus. Those days will be in my heart forever, everyone was kind and loving on our teams and she was the best. Thank you for your work on earth Anne and I know you are happy in Heaven. You have left me with outstanding memories of laughter and of course, tears. It’s been years since we moved to Florida, but I’ll never forget you. Praying for your family, wishing them the peace you now have. Sincerely and with love, Kay Snow

If Ann could speak, she might say: I AM FREE by Anne Lindgren Davison
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free. I'm following the path God laid,
you see. I took His hand when I heard Him call. I turned around and left
it all. I could not stay another day. To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way. I've found the peace on a sunny
day. If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joys. A
family shared, a laugh, a kiss.
Oh yes, these things I too, will miss. Be not burdened with times of
sorrow. I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I
savored much, good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my
time seemed all too brief. Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift
up your hearts and peace to thee.
God wanted me now; he set me free.
Ann: you were stalwart - you were decisive - you were real - you were a
faith traditionalist - you left a mark that will be remembered. I will
miss going to Latin Mass with you, our conversations, and more.
So Dear Friend, good-bye for now....until another day.

How do I share just one memory of the woman who gave me my best friend? Ann was a deep, authentic, compassionate, loving, faith-filled woman who sacrificed quietly and often for her family and friends. I was the beneficiary of that several times at key changes in my life, and I will never forget the dedication she had to helping and lifting. Ann suffered great losses in her life and always turned to God, showing me the immense power of surrender and prayer. Her children and grandchildren lit up her life and always brought real and meaningful conversation. My favorite times with Ann were at the side of Colleen, sharing not only hardships and faith, but laughter. There was an inner light in Ann that radiated when she shared and that grin and knowing smile coupled with her nods and mm mmms, did something to me as I got to know her better and spend time with her more. Leaving the area for my husband’s job was tough, and I always appreciated Ann keeping in touch. David completed her and brought her much happiness and a strong and holy husband with his steady hand and sincere devotion. I will miss it all. And I will miss my conversations with Colleen updating me on Ann and all she was reading and doing. With her passing, we have lost a pillar. I will pray for David, Colleen, Chrissy, Tim, Elizabeth and all and take comfort that Ann is with the Jesus she literally lived for, through, and with. I’m sure that Cassie was there and helped Ann just as Ann had helped her cross over and that the Heavens are rejoicing because another warrior has returned from the journey. We will live with the grief, thankful for the waves of it, as the price of deep love is deep grief. Lord Jesus, help us though..... help us carry that hard. Rest In peace dear Ann for you deserve it. May your holy send off remind others of your goodness and in typical Ann fashion show the way to walk holy and humbly with our God all the way through this life so we can have a holy send off to Him in the next too. Well done good and faithful servant and thank you for sharing your authentic and lovely self. I hope the hard of life is gone and that grin I loved ever present now. Deepest sympathy to all, most especially my dear friend Colleen. I love you and walk with you even though I don’t live around the corner. - Sarah

I adored Ann, she sent me in the direction to becoming Catholic, and taught me so much. She taught Sarrah M. & Lizzy Latin which was appreciated. She had enormous love for her family, especially Lizzy & Cassidy. She touched so many lives and helped in any way she could. Her daughter Christine was just like her & they were two peas in a pod. I am so sorry for not being able to attend the funeral. My condolences. Love, Lorie Matla.

So sorry to hear about Ann’s untimely passing. I remember vividly the Latin trips I went on with her and her students to Hobart for a number of years. She was always so happy to give them “a taste of college” with the lecture and dinner in the student dining hall and the chance to walk the campus and visit the bookstore. She also loved the dinner all the chaperones were provided with the faculty in attendance. I remember unlocking her classroom door in the morning for several years at her request when I arrived at 6 AM everyday, as well as the homemade treats she would present me with every Christmas for doing so. But most of all, I recall the faculty/senior play ARSENIC AND OLD LACE and Ann’s performance as the “cop on the beat” who would drop in on the old ladies and tell them her troubles. Her delivery was classic and her portrayal memorable. She will be remembered.
