Obituary of Loretta W. Davis

Pavilion ~ Loretta "Ret" Davis, age 86, of Lake Street, passed away Wednesday evening (February 23, 2022) at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia.

     She was born December 27, 1935 in Pavilion, a daughter of the late Richard and Myrtle Hissenbuttle Whalen.

     Ret will be remembered for her love of family, her faith and for just having a good time.  She was a substitute mail carrier for 9 years and retired from The Pavilion State Bank in 1995 after 25 years of dedicated service.  She was a devoted member of Mary Immaculate Parish (St. Mary’s Site), enjoyed bowling, playing cards and the occasional trip to the casino.  One of her most treasured things to do, was to travel to Florida with her husband, Gordy, to attend the NY Yankees spring training games.

     She will be sadly missed by her loving and devoted husband of 63 years, Gordy Davis; her sons, David (Stacie) Davis, Richard (Pam) Davis, Patrick Davis and Steven (Jennifer) Davis; grandchildren, Zachery, Matthew, Stephanie, Tyler and Cole; siblings, Jackie Lapp and Richard “Mike” (Sandy) Whalen, along with many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

     Ret was predeceased by her grandson, Jeremy Davis and sisters, Mary Alice (Edward) Rogers and Patricia (Chuck) Davis.

     Services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Immaculate Mary Parish (St. Mary’s Site), Wilmot Cancer Center or the Pavilion Fire Department.
