Obituary of Donald A. Schafer

LeRoy ~ Donald A. Schafer, age 83, of Genesee Street, passed away Thursday morning (March 31, 2022) at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia.

He was born December 15, 1938 in Rochester, NY, a son of the late Jennings and Alvina Schlottman Schafer Sr.

Don was a proud U.S. Army Veteran.  He was a member of the LeRoy American Legion - Botts-Fioritto Post #576, where he also served as a past commander.

He is survived by his brother, Kenneth (Barbara) Schafer; children, Karen, Andrea (Tracy) and John, his brother veterans and many friends.

Don was predeceased by his son, Eric and his siblings, Dorothy Baldeck, Jennings "Bud" Schafer Jr. and David Schafer.

He will be laid to rest at the Western New York National Cemetery in Pembroke.  Family and friends are welcome to attend his services to be held on Monday, April 25, 2022 at 2:00 PM.
