Obituary of Julia Faith Pettis
Please share a memory of Julia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Caledonia ~ Julia Faith Pettis, age 22, of Sand Hill Road, passed away in the loving presence of her family on December 19, 2022 at Strong Memorial Hospital.
She was born September 19, 2000 in Rochester, the daughter of David L. Pettis and Dana Bennett Pettis.
Julia will be remembered for her deep love of family and friends. Her “free-spirited” attitude gave her a thirst for life and all the adventures there were to be found. She was never without a smile and just lit up a room with her presence. Her love of people brought others together. She fought hard through her life of ups and downs and was known to be an “old soul” – very wise beyond her years. She enjoyed shopping, loved boating and played guitar and sang when the opportunity would present itself. She also earned her black belt in karate.
Julia graduated from SUNY Geneseo in May 2022 with a degree in Psychology. She went on to work at the Villa of Hope in Rochester, where she could be a part of bettering the lives of individuals and families.
Being the loving and generous person that she was, Julia had always said that she wanted to be an organ donor. Her wish to do so was her final loving gift to others.
As two dear friends remember Julia: “Julia was the kind friend that made us feel at home around her. She had a quirky and endearing sense of humor and we would find ways to laugh during any conversation. Even the tough ones, which she was always there to have when we needed it. Our memory of her brings back times of singing in the car, dancing at shows, relaxing at the beach and staying in enjoying the company of a close friend. She was adventurous, the best travel buddy, an inspiring artist and she had a curious mind that made her easy to talk to for hours. She’ll be loved and missed so much, forever”
Julia will be sadly missed by her parents, David and Dana; her aunt, Cameron Bennett (Angela Conover); uncle, Mark (Maureen) Pettis; cousins, Katie (Ian) MacTavish and their children, Jack and Cooper; Stephanie (Jeff) Solensky and their daughter, Sydney; Leighann Pettis (fiancé, William Dunbar), along with many other extended family members and dear friends.
She was predeceased by her grandparents, Roger and Anne Bennett of Cornelius, NC and Joan Williams (Richard) and Leonard Pettis of Rochester, NY.
Family and friends may call on Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 11 AM ~ 1 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake St. Rd., LeRoy, where her Service of Remembrance will be held at 1:00 PM.
