I was thinking of a time, long ago, when we were walking home from swimming. Scotty's mother had put her watch into her sneaker for safekeeping and walked halfway home before she stopped to see why her foot hurt. It's quiet here this afternoon so I put Scotty's name into the Internet and there was the obit.. I'm probably four years older than he was. I was about 10..

I am so sorry to hear of our loss. Scoop, as he was affectionately called at Five Point Gun Club was at times a stabilizing force. His whit, his humor, and his help were greatly appreciated by me and our members. Oh yes, his shooting as well. I extend our heart felt sympathy from all our members at Five Point, and specifically mine. I would like to say hello to Matt, who I also knew, and tell him his dad is in a better place. Suffering for him is over, and we should be thankful for that. I hope you gain strength as time passes.
